Cherie King, IACCP® :: Director of Operations and Compliance

Currently serving as the Director of Operations and Compliance, Cherie brings over two decades in the wealth management industry. Her multifaceted role encompasses overseeing various operational functions within the firm, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and actively contributing to the strategic planning and direction of the company.
Prior to Cairn Investment Group, Cherie served as Operations and Compliance Manager at a local investment advisory company for more than ten years. Cherie played a foundational role in shaping its operations and compliance framework from the ground up. Her involvement in virtually all parts of the business including spearheading the establishment of the firm’s back office and taking lead in the planning and implementation of technological integration, process design, and compliance management played a crucial role in the firm’s growth and evolution. Earlier in her career, she worked at Loring Ward, specializing in fund administration for the firm’s SA Funds- Investment Trust. Cherie also worked at Merrill Lynch as a Financial Consultant, where she provided financial services to high-net-worth clients. Cherie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A) degree with a concentration in management. She also holds the IACCP® (Investment Advisor Certification Compliance Professional®) designation, demonstrating her commitment to upholding the principles of compliance and ethical conduct within the industry. Outside of work, Cherie enjoys unwinding through outdoor activities and sports, including aerial yoga, kayaking, biking, and fitness. |
